Manaslu Circuit Trek is a wonderful trekking experience that lets you experience the glory of the eighth highest mountain of the world, i.e., Manaslu, all at once. The trekking route takes you to the secluded part of Nepal and showers you with an opportunity to witness the rich cultural heritages and beautiful mountainous landscapes of Nepal.
The Manaslu circuit trek starts from Soti Khala which is a 8-9 hours’ drive west from Kathmandu. We entwine in and out of the forests and pass various settlements to Machha Khola.
Unlike other trekking routes, Manaslu circuit trek is a bit challenging and demanding. The unadultered environment of Manaslu still preserves the traditional Tibetan norms which makes this trek more fascinating, both culturally and naturally.

Day 01Arrival in Kathmandu – 1,300m/4264 ft.

Upon arrival at the international airport in Kathmandu (1300M) you will be received by our representative at the arrival gate and will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02Kathmandu, Patan sightseeing and trekking preparation in Kathmandu (1,300m)

The second morning after your breakfast, we start a guided tour to several of the most historical and spiritual places in Kathmandu valley. The tour covers UNESCO World Heritage Sites including historical Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swoyambhunath (Buddhist Shrine, also called monkey temple), Boudhanath (the Largest Stupa in the World), and Pashupatinath (Hindu’s holiest pilgrimage site).
Patan, is one of the major cities of Nepal and is best known for its rich cultural heritage, in particular its tradition of arts and crafts. After heritage sightseeing, you will meet your trekking guide for briefing to help for final preparation of the trek. Overnight at hotel.

Day 03Drive from Kathmandu to Soti Khola (710m): 8-9 hrs.

Early in the morning, we leave Kathmandu for Soti Khola in Gorkha district which is 8 to 9 hour drive. We take the main highway to Dhading Besi and then to Arughat. The road to Arughat is rough with traditional villages and agricultural fields around. In a couple of hours’ drive we reach Soti Khola, where we stay overnight.

Day 04Trek to Kachha Khola (900m): 6-7 hrs.

We trek through beautiful Sal forests, then we climb onto a ridge above huge rapids on Budhi Gandaki. The trail makes it way a number of ups and downs, ultimately reaching Labubesi. Dropping onto the sandy riverbed of Budhi Gandaki, we walk along rounded stones before climbing over a side ridge. We head down again to the river and cross a suspension bridge to reach Machha Khola village. Overnight stay at a guest house.

Day 05Trek to Jagat (1,410m): 6-7 hrs.

The narrow trail makes some minor ups and downs then crosses the Tharo Khola to reach Khorla Besi. In the way we come across a hot spring before more climbs over a ridge. We cross Budhi Gandaki through a suspension bridge. Upon climbing rather easy ways, we reach a small village of Jagat, where we stay overnight.

Day 06Trek to Deng (1,804m): 6-7 hrs.

Our trek today begins with a steep rocky ridge to Salleri which then descends to Sirdibas village. The trail turns north, ultimately reaching Ekle Bhatti. The route now enters a steep gorge. At this point, we descend to the grassy land, across Budhi Gandaki. As we continue through the trail the valley widens and we pass through bamboo forests to the Deng Khola. Crossing this river, we reach the village Deng for overnight stay.

Day 07Trek to Namrung (2,630m): 6-7 hrs

After a brief walk beyond Deng, we cross Budhi Gandaki and climb to Rana at 1,910m. At Ghap, we take the route towards Prok village. Today we cross Budhi Gandaki River several times and come across a number of Buddhist Gompas en route. The trail follows the river upstream through a dense forest. The pleasant walk continues and a short steep climb we reach Namrung village for overnight stay.

Day 08Trek to Samagaon (3,530m): 6-7 hrs.

This village is a beautiful viewpoint for Siring and Ganesh Himal. We climb steadily and pass through forests and reach Lihi, a fine village with many Chortens and barley terraces. Upon reaching Shyala village we will be surrounded by high mountains. Today’s journey ends at Samagaon where we stay overnight in a guest house.

Day 09Samagaon to Pungyen Gompa exploration day

This day is set aside for acclimatization which we will utilize exploring Pungyen Gompa and Samagaon. We enjoy the sight of thousands of Mani stones with Buddhist texts and pictures and the Sherpa women clad in traditional clothes and ornaments. On a little hill near the Sama village is an old Gompa (Pungyen Gompa), from where we can have a great view of glacier. Overnight stay in Samagaon.

Day 10Trek to Samdo (3,860m): 4-5 hrs.

Beginning today’s journey we descend to Budhi Gandaki River. The trail to the left leads to the Manaslu base camp. The Larke La trail passes several Mani walls as the valley begins to widen. It is an easy trail above the river passing the juniper and birch forest of Kermo Kharka. We drop off the shelf, cross Budhi Gandaki on a wooden bridge and climb steeply onto a promontory between two forks of the river. Finally we reach Samdo village for overnight stay.

Day 11Rest day at Samdo

Another day for proper acclimatization at Samdo village. This day, we can choose to hike a hill at the back of the village. This will help prepare our body for next day’s climbs. We also enjoy seasonal herding settlements and can have sights of beautiful mountain birds like Lopophorus (National bird of Nepal). Overnight stay in Samdo.

Day 12Trek to Dharmasala to Larke Base Camp (4,460m): 4-5 hrs.

We continue our trek down the edge, cross the wooden bridge over Budhi Gandaki and begin climbing steep trail. Upon crossing two streams and witnessing the Larke Glacier we go around the valley of Salka Khola and climb up again to the stone guest house, which is not a lodge but a kind of shelther called Dharmashala. The place is also known as Larke Phedi. The short walk today also leaves plenty of time for acclimatization and relaxing in the afternoon. Overnight stay in Dharmashala.

Day 13Trek to Larke La (5,160m) to Bimthang (3,720m): 8-9 hrs.

After a short climb we reach a valley on the north side of Larke glacier, from where we can enjoy great view of Cho Danda and Larke peak. Finally, we walk across moraines of the glacier, making a gradual ascent which becomes steeper. It is a long day than usual to Bimtang, but to walk into these low pastures with the evening mist, coming in with Mt. Manaslu looming close by, is an overwhelming experience. Overnight stay at Bimthang.

Day 14Trek to Tillije (2,300m): 5-6 hrs.

We descend and cross a high pasture followed by a bridge over Dudh Khola. We walk through rhododendron forest and follow a trail through a narrow valley until we reach the highest cultivated land of the valley at Karche (2,785m). We pass across fields before making a steep climb over a ridge. The trail comes off the ridge in a big, sweeping arc to the river bank at 2,580m. A short distance beyond is the village of Gho. After a short easy walk, we reach Tilije for overnight stay.

Day 15Trek to Tal (1,700m): 5-6 hrs.

After crossing the bridge over Dudh Khola we climb up through a Chorten-shaped arch and reach the Thonje village. Here, we go through a police checkpoint, and continue to Dharpani. We have entered the Annapurna circuit section from Dharapani. Further down, we come across Karte village. We also come
Across some Mani walls before reaching the village of Tal, which is situated at the foot of a large waterfall. Overnight stay at Tal.

Day 16Trek to Syange (1,080m): 6-7 hrs.

We follow the trail to Chyamje village crossing the Marshyangdi Khola once again. The Marshyangdi valley opens with its terrace fields and villages clung very high to the hillsides. The trail then descends through rhododendron and pine forests to Syange. Overnight stay at Syange.

Day 17Drive from Syange to Kathmandu: 8-9 hrs.

The drive from Syange to Kathmandu via Besi Sahar offers an opportunity to enjoy both hill and mountain landscapes. We drive along the banks of Marsyangdi and Trishuli rivers. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

Day 18Leisure day in Kathmandu.

Spend the day in Kathmandu, to rest or explore, as per your interest. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 19Kathmandu departure or trip extensions by adding optional activities

You have the option today to extend your program. There are many fun and exciting adventures, like Everest flight, white water rafting and a wildlife safari in Chitwan National park, Pokhara excursion & paragliding or drive to airport to board for onward journey flight.
