Tharpu Chuli Peak (5,663m) is located within Annapurna Conservation Area. This peak offers an ideal opportunity for the people who are not interested to climb high peak, but want to summit a Himalayan peak. ‘Tent Peak’ is its nickname. Unparalleled view of the entire Annapurna Himalayan range, a breathtaking circle of hanging glaciers and moraines surrounded by some of the highest peaks of the world is something we get nowhere else.
Climbing Tharpu Chuli Peak is technically easy but it is challenging. However, it is the best climbing trip which takes a short time.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Kathmandu – 1,300m/4264 ft.

Upon arrival at the international airport in Kathmandu (1300M) you will be received by our representative at the arrival gate and will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2Kathmandu, Patan sightseeing and trekking preparation in Kathmandu (1,300m)

The second morning after your breakfast, we start a guided tour to several of the most historical and spiritual places in Kathmandu valley. The tour covers UNESCO World Heritage Sites including historical Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swoyambhunath (Buddhist Shrine, also called monkey temple), Boudhanath (the Largest Stupa in the World), and Pashupatinath (Hindu’s holiest pilgrimage site).
Patan, is one of the major cities of Nepal and is best known for its rich cultural heritage, in particular its tradition of arts and crafts. After heritage sightseeing, you will meet your trekking guide for briefing to help for final preparation of the trek. Overnight at hotel.

Day 3Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (823m.2, 700 ft.): 5-6 hrs.

Early in the morning we leave for Pokhara by tourist bus, enjoying beautiful Nepali countryside along the way. Sightseeing around the city and Lakeside is a bonus here. Overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 4Drive to Nayapul and trek to Tikhedhunga (1,577m): 3-4 hrs

Our trekking guide will take you for an hour drive to Nayapul and commence our trek to Birethanti, a large and prosperous town on the bank of Madi River. We proceed up the main trail to Sudami where we climb gradually up reaching Hile (1,495m) before pushing on the Tikhe Dhunga. Overnight stay at Tikhe Dhunga.

Day 5Trek to Ghorepani (2,850m): 5-6 hrs

At first we go a long uphill and start with steeply ascends on the long stone steps to Ulleri village with the amazing landscape and the Himalayan scenery. We spend a pleasant trekking through rhododendron and oak forests. After a few hours of walking, with several breaks in between, reaching Ghorepani, we can enjoy the fantastic views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Himalayan ranges. Overnight stay at Ghorepani.

Day 6Trek to Poon Hill (3,210m) and Tadapani (2,710m): 6-7 hrs.

Today’s start is uphill which takes around 40 minutes. The route offers the scenery of the pleasant rhododendron forest. This brilliant viewpoint provides us an unobstructed sun sire over the high Himalayas and the wide range of panoramic scenery from the far western Himalaya of Dolpo, Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Machhapuchhre and Manaslu peaks. We return back to Ghorepani for breakfast and continue trek to Tadapani for overnight stay.

Day 7Trek to Chhomrong (2,020m): 5 hrs

The day starts with a steep downhill. We will descend through forests and then the trail eases as we reach Gurung village. Overnight stay at Chhomrong.

Day 8Trek to Dovan (2,600m): 5 hrs

Today the trail drops down to the Chhomrong Khola and again we continue climbing to Khuldighar (2,380m), where there is an ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area Project) Check Post. The trek is continuous descent to Dovan. Overnight stay at Dovan.

Day 9Trek to Deurali (3,200m): 4 hrs

This day’s trek begins with the climb through bamboo and rhododendron forests to Dovan, which will lead us to the Himalayan Hotel and on to Hinko (3,020m). The accommodation with be in Deurali, on the ridge above Hinko. Overnight stay at Daurali.

Day 10Trek to Annapurna Base Camp 4,210m): 5 hrs

The trail climbs up to cross a pass which offers a wonderful views of Machhapuchhre Annapurna. This area is surrounded by mountain ranges. This area is known as the Annapurna Conservation Area. Here you have two choices: you can either end the day at Machhapuchhre Base Camp or trek two hours on to Annapurna Base Camp. Overnight stay at a guest house.

Day 11Trek to Tharpu Chuli Peak Base Camp (4,910m): 3-4 hrs

Adventurously climbing we head towards Ten Peak high camp / Tharpu Chuli Base Camp. We struggle against the glaciated mount and pass and finally reach our destination. For those who do not wish to climb, hiking from camp can be quite adventurous. Sightseeing exotic ecosystem and breathtaking vistas of Himalayan peaks of Nepal can be equally satisfying. Overnight stay in a tent.
Pre-Climb Training: A pre-climbing training will be given to the climbers. Our guides will provide training on peak climbing techniques and using climbing gears such as ice axe, climbing boot and crampons, harness, ascender, etc., and on how to go up and down using ropes. The training is not mandatory, yet, we believe that such training experiences will boost your confidence and climbing skills, and fully enjoy the experiences.

Day 12Climb Tharpu Chuli Peak and return back to Annapurna Base Camp: 8-9 hrs

Early in the morning, we ascend to the peak. We adventurously scale the summit of Tharpu Chuli. From the peak, we can have mesmerizing views of Annapurna range. Tucking success under our belt, we return to Annapurna Base Camp.

Day 13Reserve day for contingency

There is no certainty that we can have a favorable weather on our planned day for the summit (day 12). So this day is used as a contingency in case if we are unable to summit the peak on day 12 as scheduled due to bad weather, or some other reasons. If weather gets exceptionally unfavorable we have to postpone the scheduled of summiting the peak. If the trip goes smoothly as planned we do not need this spare day. Overnight stay in tent.

Day 14Explore the valley and trek back to Bamboo: 7 hrs

We explore the hidden valley today going around. Overnight stay at a guest house.

Day 15Trek to Jhinu hot Spring (1,780m): 5 hrs

Today, we follow the same trail till Chhomrong. Once we cross Khuldighar there is an experimental sheep farm. From here, the trail continues through rhododendron and bamboo forests. From Chhomrong, the trail descends very steeply to the Jhinu hot spring, where you can bathe in natural hot springs. Overnight stay at a guest house.

Day 16Trek to Naya Pul (1,010m): 4-5 hrs and drive to Pokhara: 1 hr

From Jhinu hot springs we walk through right side of Modi Khola for 4-5 hrs to Berethati which can be considered one of the best and the most relaxing walks of the entire trek. We reach Naya Pul, from where we take an hour drive Pokhara. Overnight stay in Pokhara.

Day 17Pokhara City Tour

We have an easy walk today, as we head back to Lukla. The evening and the night will be marked with celebrations that will include a lot of singing and dancing, of local culture. Overnight stay at a hotel in Lukla.

Day 18Pokhara to Kathmandu (1,300m) or trip extensions by adding optional activities.

You have the option today to extend your program. There are many fun and exciting adventures, like paragliding, white water rafting and a wildlife safari in Chitwan National park. If you choice to return to Kathmandu the drive passes through the picturesque countryside, we will stop for breakfast and lunch. It takes 7 hours to return to Kathmandu. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 19Kathmandu departure or trip extensions by adding optional activities.

Drive to airport to board for onward journey flight.
