Day 01: Fly from Kathmandu to Paro (2,280m | 1 hr flight)
Enjoy a spectacular flight from Kathmandu to Paro, one of the most scenic flights in the Himalayas. On clear days, you’ll see snow-capped peaks before descending into the beautiful Paro Valley. Upon arrival, complete immigration formalities and meet your guide and driver. The rest of the day is kept easy with light sightseeing or a relaxed walk around Paro town, allowing you to adjust to Bhutan’s altitude and peaceful environment.
Day 02: Drive from Paro to Thimphu (2,320m | 55 km | 2 hrs)
After breakfast, drive from Paro to Thimphu along a scenic river valley. The road passes traditional villages, farmland, and prayer wheels, offering a gentle introduction to Bhutanese countryside life. After hotel check-in, explore Thimphu’s main cultural attractions, monasteries, and local markets. This day highlights Bhutan’s blend of tradition and modern lifestyle.
Day 03: Drive from Thimphu to Wangduephodrang (1,350m | 70 km | 3 hrs)
Today’s journey takes you eastward across the scenic Dochula Pass. On clear days, the pass offers stunning Himalayan mountain views surrounded by 108 memorial chortens. From the pass, descend into warmer valleys with lush forests and rivers before reaching Wangduephodrang. This region provides insight into rural Bhutanese life, away from busy towns.
Day 04: Drive from Wangduephodrang to Punakha to Thimphu to Paro (2,280m | ~200 km | 6–7 hrs)
After breakfast, drive to Punakha Valley and visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong, located at the meeting point of two rivers. This historic fortress is one of Bhutan’s most important and visually impressive landmarks. After sightseeing, continue driving back through Dochula Pass, returning to Thimphu and onward to Paro. This long but scenic day showcases Bhutan’s diverse landscapes in a single journey.
Day 05: Fly from Paro to Kathmandu (1 hr flight)
After breakfast, transfer to Paro International Airport for your return flight to Kathmandu. Depart Bhutan with lasting memories of its culture, nature, and Himalayan beauty.
