Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m)

Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport where our representative will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in Kathmandu. This first day is kept easy so you can recover from travel and settle in comfortably. If time allows, you can explore Thamel for trekking essentials or enjoy a relaxed evening in the city. Later, you will receive a short but clear trek briefing covering the route, trail conditions, altitude points, accommodation style, packing reminders, and safety procedures so you feel fully prepared before heading into the mountains.

Day 02: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Bensi (7–8 hrs | Max Altitude: 1,503m)

After breakfast, we begin a scenic mountain drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Bensi, the gateway to the Langtang Valley. The road winds through green hills, terraced farmland, and traditional villages with beautiful river views along the way. You will feel the landscape slowly change from city valleys to rural mountain life, with frequent photo stops and short breaks. This drive is a memorable introduction to the Himalayas and sets the stage for the trekking days ahead.

Day 03: Trek from Syabru Bensi to Lama Hotel (5 hrs | Max Altitude: 2,500m)

Today is your first trekking day, following the river trail through dense forests and peaceful countryside. The path passes small settlements and crosses suspension bridges as you gradually gain altitude. You’ll walk through bamboo and rhododendron areas, listening to the sound of the river below and enjoying the calm of the Langtang region. By the time you reach Lama Hotel, you will be surrounded by deep forest and fresh mountain air—a perfect setting to rest and begin acclimatizing naturally.

Day 04: Trek from Lama Hotel to Mundu (6 hrs | Max Altitude: 3,543m)

You will pass through local villages and yak-grazing areas where Tamang culture is visible in prayer flags, stone walls, and traditional houses. Day 05: Trek from Mundu to Kyanjin Gompa (3–4 hrs | Max Altitude: 3,798m)

A shorter and more relaxed trek brings you to Kyanjin Gompa, the heart of the Langtang Valley. The trail passes yak pastures, prayer wheels, and small settlements with increasingly impressive views of the surrounding peaks and glaciers. On arrival, you can explore the monastery area and observe local life in this beautiful mountain village. Kyanjin is also known for its cheese-making tradition, and if open, you may visit the local cheese factory for a taste of fresh Himalayan cheese.

Day 06: Acclimatization Day – Hike to Chorkari Ri (6–7 hrs | Max Altitude: 5,050m)

Today is a key acclimatization and viewpoint day. You will hike to Chorkari Ri, one of the best panoramic viewpoints in the region. The climb is challenging but extremely rewarding, offering breathtaking views over the Langtang range, glaciers, and surrounding Himalayan peaks. This “climb high, sleep low” strategy helps your body adapt safely while giving you one of the most memorable mountain panoramas of the trek. After enjoying the views, you descend back to Kyanjin Gompa for rest and recovery.

Day 07: Trek from Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel (5–6 hrs | Max Altitude: 2,500m)

Along the way, you will pass familiar villages and enjoy changing scenery—from alpine terrain back into thick forests. Returning to Lama Hotel is a comfortable stop that allows your body to recover well after high altitude.

Day 08: Trek from Lama Hotel to Thulo Syabru (5–6 hrs | Max Altitude: 2,235m)

Today’s trek transitions from the Langtang Valley route toward the Gosaikunda section. The trail descends and then climbs gradually through forested ridges and scenic viewpoints. Thulo Syabru is a traditional Tamang village with a strong cultural atmosphere, stone houses, and mountain-facing terraces. This village is also a key gateway to Gosaikunda, so the pace today is steady and well-planned to prepare for higher elevations ahead.

Day 09: Trek from Thulo Syabru to Shin Gompa (3–5 hrs | Max Altitude: 3,300m)

As you gain altitude, you may spot waterfalls, streams, and occasional wildlife while walking in a quiet, less-crowded trail section. Shin Gompa is a calm ridge-top area known for monastery surroundings and a strong mountain atmosphere. From here, you are very close to the sacred alpine lake region.

Day 10: Trek from Shin Gompa to Gosaikunda (5–6 hrs | Max Altitude: 4,300m)

Today is one of the most special days of the trek as you reach the sacred Gosaikunda Lake. The trail climbs steadily into alpine terrain with fewer trees and wider mountain views. As you approach the lake area, the landscape becomes more open and spiritual, with prayer flags and stone shrines often seen along the way. Gosaikunda is revered by both Hindus and Buddhists, and its turquoise water surrounded by snow-capped peaks creates a truly unforgettable high-altitude atmosphere.

This is the most challenging and adventurous crossing of the trek. Starting early, you climb to the Laurebinayak Yak Pass, a high ridge that offers dramatic panoramic views of the Langtang, Ganesh, and Jugal Himal ranges. The trail can be windy and cold here, making proper pacing and layering important. After enjoying the incredible pass views, you descend through forests and alpine meadows toward Ghopte, a quiet settlement surrounded by wilderness and deep mountain silence.

Sermathang is a peaceful village known for its scenic setting and warm hospitality, making it a perfect final trekking stop before returning to Kathmandu.

Day 15: Trek to Melamchi Pul Bazaar & Drive to Kathmandu (4–5 hrs trek + 2 hrs drive | Max Altitude: 1,400m)

After breakfast, you trek down to Melamchi Pul Bazaar, passing farmland, villages, and warmer landscapes as the trek officially concludes. From Melamchi, you continue by road back to Kathmandu. Returning to the capital feels like a complete change of pace after remote mountain trails, and you’ll have time to relax, shop, or enjoy a final evening in Thamel.

Day 16: Final Departure from Kathmandu or Trip Extensions
