Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive in Paro, Drive to Thimphu (2,320m | 55 km | 1.5 hrs)

Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, meet your guide and begin a scenic drive to Thimphu. En route, visit Tamchhog Lhakhang, a traditional iron-chain bridge temple. Continue to Kuenselcholing View Point for panoramic views of Thimphu Valley. Later, visit the Memorial Chorten and the impressive Tashichho Dzong, Bhutan’s main administrative and religious center. Overnight in Thimphu.

Day 02: Thimphu Sightseeing & Cheri Monastery Hike (2,800m | 4–5 hrs)

Begin the day with a scenic hike to Cheri Monastery, a peaceful forest trail leading to one of Bhutan’s important meditation centers. After the hike, visit the handmade paper factory, local weekend market (if operating), and Bhutan Craft Bazaar. In the evening, enjoy a relaxed stroll around Thimphu city.

Day 03: Drive from Thimphu to Gangtey (3,000m | 150 km | 5 hrs)

Drive eastward to Gangtey via the beautiful Dochula Pass. On clear days, enjoy stunning Himalayan views and 108 chortens at the pass. Descend into the wide Phobjikha Valley, known for its open landscapes and black-necked cranes (seasonal). Visit Gangtey Monastery overlooking the valley. Overnight in Gangtey.

Day 04: Gangtey to Punakha (1,300m | 120 km | 4–5 hrs)

Visit Gangtey Goemba in the morning, then begin the drive toward Punakha. Along the way, hike to Chimi Lhakhang, the famous Temple of Fertility, passing through villages and rice fields. Continue driving to Punakha Valley and check into your hotel.

Day 05: Punakha to Paro (2,280m | 125 km | 4 hrs)

Visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong, located at the confluence of two rivers and considered Bhutan’s most beautiful dzong. After sightseeing, drive back to Paro via Dochula Pass. Upon arrival, visit Rimpung Dzong and the sacred Kichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples.

Day 06: Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery (3,120m | 5–6 hrs)
