The Annapurna Circuit Trek with Tilicho Lake is one of Nepal’s most rewarding and adventurous long-distance treks, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty, cultural immersion, and high-mountain challenge. This classic journey follows the famous Annapurna Circuit route while adding a spectacular side trip to Tilicho Lake (4,950 m)—one of the world’s highest alpine lakes, set beneath towering Himalayan peaks and glaciers.
The trek begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to the Annapurna region, gradually ascending through lush river valleys, pine forests, and traditional villages influenced by Tibetan culture. As you move higher, the landscape transforms into arid alpine terrain, leading to the beautiful Manang Valley, where a dedicated acclimatization day ensures a safe ascent.
Leaving the main circuit, the trail heads toward the remote Tilicho region, crossing rugged terrain with breathtaking mountain views before reaching the turquoise waters of Tilicho Lake. After rejoining the Annapurna Circuit, the trek reaches its ultimate highlight—crossing the legendary Thorong La Pass (5,416 m)—before descending to the sacred pilgrimage site of Muktinath and continuing through the dramatic Kali Gandaki Valley.
This trek is ideal for experienced trekkers seeking a challenging but well-paced adventure, offering diverse landscapes, cultural depth, and some of the most iconic scenery in the Himalayas.
