Itinerary
Day 01: Drive from Kathmandu / Pokhara to Damauli – Kayak Training (Class I | 3–4 hrs training)
The journey begins with a drive from Kathmandu (approx. 4 hrs) or from Pokhara (approx. 1.5 hrs) to Damauli, the base area for the Seti River Kayak Clinic.
Upon arrival, you meet the professional kayak instructors from Rainbow Adventure & Travel. The first day focuses on building confidence in a safe, calm environment using slow-flowing river sections and large pools. Training includes safety demonstrations, correct paddling posture, basic strokes, balancing, steering, and kayak control.
Participants are introduced to assisted rescue techniques and a beginner-level introduction to Eskimo rolls. The relaxed river conditions make this day ideal for learning fundamentals without pressure.
Day 02: Kayaking Downstream – Skill Practice & Swift Water Rescue (Class I–II | 4–5 hrs paddling)
After breakfast, the day begins with a refresher session before paddling downstream through gentle Class I–II rapids. The river offers plenty of time to practice balance, steering, edging, and paddle control under close instructor supervision.
Mid-day, the group stops for lunch and a basic swift-water rescue training, learning how to assist others safely, manage throw bags, and understand river hazards. In the afternoon, the focus shifts to reading the river, identifying currents, eddies, and safe lines.
Day 03: Skill Development & Control Session (Class II | 4–5 hrs paddling)
Today emphasizes confidence building and skill refinement. Paddling continues through gentle rapids, allowing participants to practice ferrying, eddy turns, and controlled maneuvering.
After lunch, a focused skills session is held in a calm eddy area, where instructors provide individual feedback. This controlled practice environment helps participants strengthen technique, improve stability, and prepare for more challenging water.
Day 04: Advanced Practice on Challenging Rapids – Course Completion (Class II–III | 4–5 hrs paddling)
The final day brings everything together. Using newly acquired skills, participants paddle through more challenging Class II–III rapids, encountering bigger waves and longer rapid sections.
Instructors lead from the front, demonstrating correct lines and offering on-water coaching. This day is about building confidence, understanding river dynamics, and safely running technical sections. The course concludes after a successful run, marking a major step forward in kayaking ability.
