Itinerary
Day 01: Drive from Pokhara to Kande, Trek from Kande to Forest Camp (2,200m | 5–6 hrs)
After breakfast, you drive from Pokhara to Kande, the starting point of the Mardi Himal Trek. The drive passes through hillside roads and rural settlements before reaching the trailhead. From Kande, the trek begins with a gradual ascent through lush rhododendron and oak forests, following peaceful trails shaded by tall trees.
As you continue climbing, the scenery becomes quieter and more alpine. Occasional openings in the forest offer glimpses of Machhapuchhre and surrounding hills. By late afternoon, you arrive at Forest Camp, a small and cozy settlement nestled deep within the forest, providing a peaceful mountain atmosphere for overnight rest.
Day 02: Trek from Forest Camp to Low Camp, Continue Trek to High Camp (3,550m | 6–7 hrs)
Leaving Forest Camp, the trail climbs steadily through dense bamboo and rhododendron forests. As altitude increases, the vegetation begins to thin, and the views gradually open toward the Annapurna range. After reaching Low Camp, the trail continues upward along scenic ridgelines with increasingly dramatic mountain scenery.
Approaching High Camp, the landscape becomes alpine, with wide open slopes and stunning views of Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, and Hiunchuli. High Camp sits on an exposed ridge, offering an unforgettable sense of altitude and proximity to the mountains.
Day 03: Hike from High Camp to Mardi Himal Base Camp, Descend from Mardi Himal Base Camp to High Camp (4,500m | 6–7 hrs)
An early morning start takes you from High Camp toward Mardi Himal Base Camp. The trail follows a narrow ridge with breathtaking views on both sides, making this the most scenic day of the trek. As the sun rises, the Annapurna Massif, Machhapuchhre, Hiunchuli, and Mardi Himal glow in golden light.
Reaching Mardi Himal Base Camp is a rewarding achievement, offering panoramic Himalayan views from a high alpine setting. After spending time enjoying the scenery and taking photos, you descend carefully back to High Camp for overnight rest.
Day 04: Trek from High Camp to Siding, Drive from Siding to Pokhara (1,100m | 5–6 hrs)
After breakfast, the trail descends from High Camp through forests and open hillsides toward Siding village. This route is quieter and less crowded, passing through terraced farmland and traditional Gurung settlements. The descent offers a contrasting view of rural mountain life and warmer landscapes.
Upon reaching Siding, you drive from Siding to Pokhara, marking the end of the Mardi Himal Trek. The return journey provides time to reflect on the dramatic scenery, peaceful trails, and close-up mountain views experienced during the trek.
