Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival from Tribhuvan International Airport to Kathmandu (1,400m | Airport transfer)

When you arrive in Kathmandu, our airport representative welcomes you and transfers you to your hotel in the city. After check-in, you can relax or take a short walk around Thamel, where you’ll see a lively mix of local shops, old temples, and colorful streets. This day is kept easy so you can recover from travel and prepare your body for the trek ahead.

Day 02: Trip Briefing & Trek Preparation in Kathmandu (1,400m | 2–3 hrs)

Today is for rest and final preparation. You’ll attend a detailed briefing at the hotel covering route plan, safety, altitude awareness, and climbing logistics. You will also meet your climbing guide and check your equipment. If you need any last-minute gear, Thamel is the best place to shop or rent items. This day is special because good preparation is the key to a safe and successful summit.

Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla, Trek from Lukla to Paiya (2,730m | 4–5 hrs)

Your adventure starts with an early morning scenic flight to Lukla, one of the world’s most exciting mountain airports. After landing, you begin trekking on a quieter trail away from the busy Everest Base Camp route. The path gently descends through pine forests, small settlements, and suspension bridges over clear streams. This is a perfect first day because the trail is comfortable, your legs warm up slowly, and you start experiencing mountain culture right away. Paiya is a peaceful village where you rest for the night in a simple lodge.

Day 04: Trek from Paiya to Pangom (2,846m | 5–6 hrs)

Today’s trek follows forest trails and terraced hillsides with a mix of short climbs and descents. The route passes traditional villages where you see local farming life and simple mountain homes. Because this trail is less crowded, the experience feels more personal and authentic. Pangom is a Sherpa village known for its quiet atmosphere and beautiful surrounding hills—ideal for rest and steady acclimatization.

Day 05: Trek from Pangom to Nagindingma (2,650m | 5–6 hrs)

The trail continues through lush rhododendron forests and small streams, with occasional views opening toward distant ridges. This day is enjoyable because the route is peaceful and you can walk at a relaxed rhythm. You descend slightly to Nagindingma, a small settlement surrounded by greenery. Day 06: Trek from Nagindingma to Khola Kharka (3,930m | 6–7 hrs)

Today is a major altitude gain day. The trail climbs steadily from forest into open alpine terrain. The air becomes thinner, so you walk slowly, take regular breaks, and focus on steady breathing. As you gain height, the scenery becomes wilder and more dramatic, with wide views and fewer villages. Khola Kharka is a high pasture area, and this day is special because it marks your real entry into higher Himalayan wilderness.

Day 07: Trek from Khola Kharka to Kothe (3,691m | 6–7 hrs)

The descent can be long, but the views and wilderness atmosphere make it unforgettable. Kothe is a riverside settlement that feels like a hidden village, and it becomes a key stop on the Mera Peak route.

Day 08: Trek from Kothe to Thaknak (4,358m | 4–5 hrs)

Day 09: Trek from Thaknak to Khare (5,045m | 4–5 hrs)

This day is important because reaching Khare gives you the right altitude base for training, acclimatization, and summit preparation.

Day 10: Rest & Climbing Training Day in Khare (5,045m | 3–4 hrs)

This is one of the most important days for summit success. Your climbing guide teaches and practices essential skills such as using crampons, walking on snow, ice-axe technique, rope safety, and glacier movement. You also do a short acclimatization hike to help your body adjust. This day builds confidence, improves safety, and prepares you mentally for high camp and summit day.

Day 11: Trek from Khare to Mera High Camp (5,780m | 5–6 hrs)

Today you move onto the glacier, often roped together for safety. The trail is snowy and the pace is slow because of altitude. Reaching High Camp feels like a real expedition, and you rest early to prepare for the summit push before dawn.

Day 12: Summit Mera Peak, Descend from Summit to Khare (6,461m | 9–10 hrs)

Summit day starts very early in the dark with headlamps. You climb gradually on snow slopes, using crampons and ropes as guided by the climbing team. The challenge comes from altitude and cold, not technical difficulty. From the summit, the panoramic view is one of the best in Nepal, with Everest, Makalu, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, and Kanchenjunga visible on clear days. After photos and celebration, you descend carefully back to Khare.

Day 13: Trek from Khare to Kothe (3,600m | 6–7 hrs)

Day 17: Buffer Day in Kathmandu (1,345m)

This buffer day in Kathmandu allows flexibility after your Himalayan adventure. You can spend the day shopping for souvenirs in Thamel or Durbar Marg, relaxing at your hotel, or joining an optional sightseeing tour of Kathmandu’s cultural heritage sites at an additional cost. This extra day is useful in case of flight delays or simply to unwind before departure.

Day 18: Final Departure from Kathmandu / Trip Extension
