Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m)
Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport and meet our representative for a warm welcome and transfer to your hotel in Kathmandu. This day is kept relaxed so you can recover from your flight and settle into Nepal comfortably. If time allows, you may explore Thamel for trekking essentials or enjoy a short walk around local markets. In the evening, we provide a clear trek briefing explaining the Tamang Heritage route, Langtang Valley connection, accommodation standards, daily walking plan, altitude points, and important safety guidelines so you feel fully prepared before heading into the mountains.
Day 02: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Bensi (7–8 hrs | Max Altitude: 1,503m)
After breakfast, begin a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Bensi, the gateway to the Tamang Heritage and Langtang region. The road follows rivers and hillsides, passing terraced farmland, traditional villages, and panoramic countryside views. You’ll notice the landscape becoming more rural and mountainous as you approach the Langtang area. This drive is an important transition day, giving you a real sense of Nepal’s mountain life before trekking begins.
Day 03: Trek from Syabru Bensi to Gatlang (5 hrs | Max Altitude: 2,238m)
Today you begin trekking into the Tamang Heritage trail, leaving the main road behind and climbing through hills, forests, and local farmlands. The route passes traditional settlements where you can observe Tamang culture, lifestyle, and architecture. As you approach Gatlang, you’ll see stone houses, carved wooden details, prayer flags, and a strong Buddhist influence. Gatlang is a beautiful heritage village known for warm hospitality, cultural traditions, and mountain-facing views—an ideal introduction to this culturally rich trek.
Day 04: Trek from Gatlang to Tatopani (5–6 hrs | Max Altitude: 2,607m)
The trail today moves through scenic Tamang settlements such as Chilime and Gonggang, with changing landscapes from forests to open ridges. You’ll enjoy impressive views toward Langtang and Ganesh Himal ranges as you walk. The path includes gradual climbs and descents, making it a steady but enjoyable trekking day. Tatopani is known for its natural hot spring area and peaceful village atmosphere, offering a relaxing evening after a full day on the trail.
Day 05: Trek from Tatopani to Thuman via Nagthali Ridge (5–6 hrs | Max Altitude: 3,165m approx.)
Today is a culturally rich and scenic day as you trek toward Thuman, often via the Nagthali ridge area, which offers excellent viewpoints. The trail climbs through alpine forests and open ridgelines, and on clear days you can enjoy wide Himalayan panoramas including Langtang, Ganesh, and even views toward the Kerung side near the border. As you descend toward Thuman, you enter a traditional Tamang village known for its Tibetan-influenced culture, prayer flags, and strong community life. You’ll notice local dress, language, and traditions feel distinctly different from other trekking regions.
Day 06: Trek from Thuman to Briddhim (6 hrs | Max Altitude: 2,229m)
The trail continues through remote villages and forested sections, offering a deeper look into Tamang and Tibetan Buddhist heritage. You may pass Lingling village and walk through quiet trails that feel less touristy than many popular routes. Briddhim is a culturally special village with Tibetan-style houses and strong Buddhist traditions. Many locals have historical roots connected to Tibet, and the village atmosphere is calm and authentic. This is an excellent place to experience genuine mountain hospitality and cultural immersion.
Day 07: Trek from Briddhim to Lama Hotel (6 hrs | Max Altitude: 2,480m)
Today you transition from the Tamang Heritage trail and connect with the main Langtang Valley route. The trail passes through forested paths and joins the riverside trekking corridor near Rimche and Bamboo. You will notice the environment becoming more lush again with deeper forests and river sounds as you walk. Lama Hotel is a quiet forest stop surrounded by greenery, and it’s an ideal overnight location that also supports gradual acclimatization before heading higher into the Langtang Valley.
Day 08: Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang Village (5 hrs | Max Altitude: 3,430m)
The trail climbs steadily through forests as the valley begins to open and mountain scenery becomes more dramatic. You pass through places like Ghodatabela and other small settlements, with increasing views of snowy peaks. Arriving at Langtang Village is an important moment—this area has deep cultural value and also reflects the resilience of local communities after the 2015 earthquake. The village sits in a wide alpine valley, offering beautiful mountain backdrops and a strong Tamang Buddhist atmosphere.
Day 09: Trek from Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa (7–8 hrs | Max Altitude: 3,830m)
Today you trek deeper into the upper Langtang Valley toward Kyanjin Gompa, passing yak pastures, small settlements, and open alpine terrain. The scenery becomes highly dramatic with glaciers, towering peaks, and wide valley landscapes. Kyanjin Gompa is the spiritual and scenic hub of the Langtang region, surrounded by majestic mountains and close to glaciers. If you have energy and weather is clear, an optional hike to Kyanjin Ri is possible for extra viewpoints. This long day is incredibly rewarding and places you in the heart of the Himalayas.
Day 10: Hike to Chorkari Ri & Return to Kyanjin Gompa (6–7 hrs | Max Altitude: 5,050m)
This is the main viewpoint day and one of the most spectacular highlights of the entire trek. You start early and climb to Chorkari Ri, a challenging but incredibly rewarding hike that offers sweeping panoramic mountain views. From the summit viewpoint, you can see glaciers, deep valleys, and stunning Himalayan peaks across the Langtang region. This “climb high, sleep low” day is excellent for safe altitude adaptation while giving you the best photography and scenery opportunities. After enjoying the views and resting, descend carefully back to Kyanjin Gompa for overnight.
Day 11: Trek from Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel (5–6 hrs | Max Altitude: 2,480m)
Today you begin descending from the high alpine valley back toward the forest zone. As altitude decreases, breathing becomes easier and the scenery changes from glacial landscapes to greener forest trails. You pass through Langtang settlements again and follow the river down through familiar villages and viewpoints. Returning to Lama Hotel provides a comfortable overnight stop and gives your body time to recover from the high altitude days.
Day 12: Trek from Lama Hotel to Syabru Bensi (5–6 hrs | Max Altitude: 1,462m)
The trail continues descending through bamboo and rhododendron forests, crossing suspension bridges and riverside paths. This is a pleasant final trekking day with a gradual downhill route and warmer air. On arrival in Syabru Bensi, you can relax and enjoy the final evening in the trekking region while reflecting on the cultural and mountain experiences of both the Tamang Heritage and Langtang Valley routes.
Day 13: Drive from Syabru Bensi to Kathmandu (7–8 hrs | Max Altitude: 1,400m)
After breakfast, drive back to Kathmandu following the scenic hill roads and river valleys. The return journey passes through rural villages, terraced farmland, and beautiful countryside landscapes. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, check into your hotel and enjoy free time in the evening for shopping, rest, or a farewell dinner in the city.
