Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m)
Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport and meet our representative for transfer to your hotel in Kathmandu. This day is designed for rest after your international journey, with time to settle in comfortably and prepare for the trek ahead. If you arrive early, you can explore Thamel’s local streets for trekking gear, exchange money, or enjoy a relaxed walk through nearby markets. In the evening, you will receive a short trek briefing covering the route plan, trail conditions, altitude points, accommodation style, and key safety guidelines so you are fully ready for the Langtang adventure.
Day 02: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (7–8 hrs | Max Altitude: 1,503m)
After breakfast, begin a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, the starting point of the Langtang Valley Trek. The road follows the Trishuli River and passes through green hills, terraced farmland, and traditional villages. You’ll experience a gradual shift from city life to rural mountain landscapes, with opportunities to stop for tea breaks and photographs. By late afternoon, you arrive in Syabrubesi, a small riverside town where you can rest and prepare for the first trekking day.
Day 03: Trek from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel via Bamboo (6 hrs | Max Altitude: 2,480m)
Today your trek begins, following a peaceful trail along the river with suspension bridges and forest paths. The route climbs gradually through lush bamboo groves and rhododendron forests, where you may spot birds and local wildlife inside Langtang National Park. The trail passes small Tamang settlements and teahouse stops, offering a classic Himalayan trekking experience without extreme altitude gain. Lama Hotel is a quiet forest stop surrounded by greenery, providing a comfortable place to rest and acclimatize naturally.
Day 04: Trek from Lama Hotel to Mundu via Langtang Village (6 hrs | Max Altitude: 3,543m)
The trail continues through the forest as the valley opens and mountain views begin to appear more clearly. You trek past riverside sections, prayer flags, and small villages, gradually gaining altitude into a more alpine environment. Passing through Langtang Village is an important part of the journey, as it carries deep history and resilience after the 2015 earthquake. Continuing onward to Mundu, you’ll feel the atmosphere become quieter and more remote, with wider views of surrounding peaks and a stronger Himalayan village setting.
Day 05: Trek from Mundu to Kyanjin Gompa (3–4 hrs | Max Altitude: 3,830m)
A shorter trekking day takes you deeper into the Langtang Valley, passing yak pastures, small settlements, and open alpine terrain. The scenery becomes more dramatic as you approach Kyanjin Gompa, a famous high mountain village surrounded by glaciers and towering peaks. After arrival, you can explore the monastery area and enjoy the peaceful setting. Kyanjin is also known for its local cheese-making tradition, and if available, you may visit the cheese factory to taste fresh Himalayan products.
Day 06: Hike to Tsergo Ri (or Kyanjin Ri) (6–7 hrs | Max Altitude: 4,985m)
Today is the major viewpoint and highlight day of the trek. You start early for a challenging climb to Tsergo Ri, one of the best panoramic viewpoints in the Langtang region. The trail is steep and demanding, but the reward is extraordinary—vast Himalayan views over Langtang Lirung, Langshisha Ri, glaciers, and surrounding snowy peaks. This is also an excellent acclimatization strategy because you climb high during the day and return to sleep lower in Kyanjin Gompa. After enjoying the summit views and photos, you descend carefully back to the village for a well-earned rest.
Day 07: Trek from Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel (5–6 hrs | Max Altitude: 2,480m)
You begin descending from the high alpine valley back into greener landscapes. The trail retraces past Mundu and Langtang settlements, giving you a second chance to enjoy the valley views from a different perspective. As you drop in altitude, breathing becomes easier and the surroundings become more forested again. Arriving at Lama Hotel provides a comfortable overnight stop, helping your body recover after the high viewpoint day.
Day 08: Trek from Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi (5 hrs | Max Altitude: 1,503m)
Continuing downhill, you follow the riverside trail through bamboo and rhododendron forests, crossing bridges and passing small local settlements. The trail feels easier today due to the lower altitude and gentle descent. On arrival in Syabrubesi, you can relax and enjoy the final evening in the trekking region, reflecting on the journey through Langtang National Park.
Day 09: Drive from Syabrubesi to Kathmandu (7–8 hrs | Max Altitude: 1,400m)
After breakfast, drive back to Kathmandu through scenic hills and river valleys. The return journey follows similar roads along the Trishuli River with countryside views and village life along the way. Once back in Kathmandu, check into your hotel and enjoy free time for shopping, relaxing, or visiting restaurants—an ideal way to close your trekking experience.
Day 10: Final Departure from Kathmandu or Trip Extension
Transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward flight, marking the end of your Langtang Valley adventure. Optional trip extensions such as a Chitwan jungle safari, Pokhara tour, rafting, Nagarkot sunrise stay, or a Kathmandu–Bhaktapur cultural tour can be arranged upon request.
